happy birthday luke

Happy 7th Birthday Luke!

Our new year started off as it has for the past six years, by celebrating Luke's birthday.  It is such a fun way to start the new year.  I always try and make the day special for him, so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle of New Year's Day.

This year, we had some dear friends over for New Year's Eve and let the kids stay up till midnight.  So we were able to celebrate Luke's birthday with friends and have cake as soon as it became January 1st.  It was a bit confusing for Luke though, because in the morning he kept saying is today my birthday or was it last night.

Luke is, and always has been, such a happy person.  He has a quick and easy smile that he shares with everyone.  He is full of love and easy to get along with.  He is quick to say that he is sorry and since he tends to ask forgiveness instead of permission, he says sorry a lot.  He constantly strives to keep the peace with his siblings and in our family.  He gives the best hugs.  He wakes up smiling and talking and goes to bed the same way.  His brother John is his best friend.  He has asked at least 3 different girls to marry him, not all at the same time and can't wait to be a husband and father.  He wants to be spider-man when he grows up.  He shares easily.  He has grown up a lot this year and it hasn't always been easy for him. 

 

God truly blessed our family when he placed Luke in it, he is such a joy to have in our family!
