Hello, my name is Anne and this is my blog. I am the wife of an amazing man, Mark, who is my rock and brings out the best in me, which is not always easy. We were set up on a blind date 12 years ago and were married 11 months later. I am a stay at home mom of three awesome kids, all adopted from Guatemala. Our oldest John is in first grade, Luke is in pre-K and Grace attends a special education school.
Grace, was referred to us as a healthy baby girl. However, when our adoption was final we learned that she had something wrong with her brain. We brought her home, relying on our faith and have been blessed by incredible gifts through our daughter - thus the name of our blog. It is not easy raising a mentally and physically disabled child, but it is a lot easier with the faith we have that God is in control of our lives.
I am a Christian, who continually strives to be a better wife, mom, friend, daughter, sister and person. I like to take pictures of my kids and dream of being much better at photography than I am. I would love to one day be able to use all the scrapbooking supplies I have bought over the years but fear that I will never live that long or have time to do that much scrapbooking. I am a {sometimes} runner. I love to read and usually have four books on my nightstand that I am currently reading. I am a cooking enthusiast, who strives to feed my family wholesome, organic home cooked meals, but sometimes it is easier not too. I would love to live on a farm, raise chickens and grow a garden that supports my family.
I try to provide an accurate picture of what life is like raising three kids 6 and under, but sometimes I choose to just focus on the positive. I have learned a lot and continue to learn a lot about raising a significantly special needs child. I share our struggles and what we've learned here in the hopes of helping others and gaining help from others who have gone before us.
