I was reading an article by a professional blogger and they suggested that when you haven't blogged for a while you should never, and I mean never, start with a line that says 'sorry I haven't blogged in a while.' Their point was that you would be pointed out that you haven't blogged and getting your readers to focus on that. My thought was that if anyone still reads your blog, they should be smart enough to realize that you haven't blogged in a while. But whatever, they are the professionals.
So I will not say that I haven't blogged in two weeks because we have been busy living our lives. Because I'm assuming you already know that family life is busy.
Or that I ran out of space on blogger because I post so many pictures and had to upgrade my storage. When I tried to do this I found out that our credit card company sent us a new credit card due to security purposes. But in the wisdom only found in really large and really ineffective companies, they only sent Mark a new card. Since we have a joint credit card, that meant I didn't have a credit card. And no, it's not because he cut me off. I checked. So then I had to wait for my new card to buy more space. But the time I got the new card, I didn't have the motivation to make a new post (see below).
Or that I haven't blogged because I have been channeling my inner lazy person. She moved in recently and I haven't written a daily to do list in two weeks. This is BIG news if you know me in person. Thankfully, I think I've kicked her to the curb and am back on track with my lists and focus. Although, that new book I just got of the library and my couch do look pretty good this morning...
Or
that I haven't blogged because I haven't really had anything to say. I started this space as a way to keep family and friends updated on my kids back in 2007. Then when we adopted Grace and things didn't go exactly as I had planned, I began using this space as a place to get the feelings out of my head so it wouldn't explode. Now that we've settled in to our life as a special needs family, I've been using this space as our family scrapbook. Sometimes that seems like enough and other times I want it to be more.
Or that I haven't blogged because we have been at the ball field almost
every night. And I mean every night. Although, I'm happy to go. I love baseball. Seriously, I do. One of my dreams is to see a game in every park in one season. At one point in my life, I had mapped this out. I also love the sense of community I feel from belonging to our Little League. This is our fourth season and it is fun to see the boys and parents each spring. Something about belonging to this community fills a space in me that I didn't know existed. I love the camaraderie found among the parents and how at this age, it is still about having fun and learning the game. Now that we are full into the season it is busy with two boys on two different teams in two different divisions. But I wouldn't change it.
As you can tell by these pictures, which have nothing to do with this post, we took the boys to a Wilmington Blue Rocks game recently. It was really fun! We love going to this stadium and experiencing small town baseball.

I just took a break too but didn't announce it when I resumed blogging. I think it's obvious too and it doesn't need to be pointed out but I sure don't think it's a bad idea to mention it. Cute pictures of the kids and enjoy baseball season!
