Baseball season is upon us. Both boys are playing again this year. John has moved up to Minor-C, which means they are following all the baseball rules this year. So, we are trying to teach him the rules of the game. It is a learning process for him. Luke is playing T-ball again this year. I'm really happy with his coach and the dad's that assist with practice.
Luke had his first game today. He got 'drafted' by The Bats, each team is named after a real minor league team. Luke is pumped because he loves bats. Who knew.
Today his team was 'versing' (that is the term all the kids use when talking about playing another team, it cracks me up) his best friend Brandon's team. Luke and Brandon are in Kindergarten together and Luke was supposed to go home with Brandon yesterday but Brandon was out sick. Today at the field when Luke saw him he ran over and hugged Brandon and said 'I missed you'.
Luke is more focused this year and seems to be more into the game. He was very disappointed that he didn't get more balls hit to him, so he asked the coach to switch his position. He played first base for the last inning.
This is where John spent his time during Luke's game. He played with Brandon's older brother and the brother of one of Luke's team mates. The three boys spent their whole time in the 'woods' picking up sticks. I guess it is a boy thing to do...
John's first game is Tuesday. So it's safe to say that I'm going to be spending a lot of time at the ball field in the coming weeks. Good thing I like baseball...

Gotta love spring sports. I hope they both have a fun season :)
It is a good thing that you like baseball! At this age, it's a lot of waiting around for your child to be up at bat or waiting for the ball to come to him!
Where did you find all of those pictures of Shane Victorino when he played T-ball?
