Messy Face Grace

Our adorable daughter has so many nick-names it is not funny.  So many things rhyme with her name and since we were told by her doctors under the impression that she may never recognize our faces due to her significant visual impairment, I have always talked and sung to her.  I'd just like to say for the record that she no longer has a significant visual impairment, in fact she may not have any visual impairment at all now - so it is just further proof, that the doctors are clueless completely baffled by our girl!

Anyway, Grace is still on a mostly, mainly, pretty much all she eats is purees that are fed to her diet.  However, she does eat a few things which she will use her own hands and put into her mouth.  She will feed herself lots (and lots) of crunchy snack foods.  For example, she loves Pirate's Booty and will eat this stuff by the bagfull.  She will also eat peanut butter on ritz crackers, oreo cookies, goldfish crackers, pretzels, and many other crunchy snack foods.

When she does feed herself, she makes the biggest MESS.  She gets food in her hair, on her clothes, all over the floor, her hands need to be scrubbed, on the walls, it just goes everywhere.

It's a good thing she is so cute, messy face and all!

she's cute alright. I've learned as a mom that messy stuff I used to hate I don't hate at all when it's made by my daughter. I don't know why -- it must be motherhood. :)
