What a surprise!

Grace's sleep schedule is totally off due to school.  Prior to going to school she took a 2-3 hour nap every day and then would go to bed at 7:00PM (ish) and play in her crib until she fell asleep between 9:00 and 10:00.  Well, now that she is in school she doesn't get any naptime.  That is unless she snoozes on the van on the way home - which most of the kids do.  This change has been difficult for her to handle and it often causes her to fall asleep instantly at 7:00pm and then wake up in the middle of the night to play in her crib.

Grace is VERY loud when she plays in her crib at night.  Which is funny because she can go all day long and not vocalize at all, but you put her in her crib and my girl is loud.  Typically when she wakes up at night, she also wakes Mark and I up.  So one of us goes in and make sure she doesn't have a dirty diaper and isn't wet through her nighttime diaper.  We then take her out in the hallway to show her that it is still night time and that no one else is awake.  After that and some snuggling we lay her back in her crib and leave.  I have taken to turning on a fan so that I can't hear her if she stays awake because I find it very difficult to be a happy parent (or person for that matter) with only 2-3 hours of sleep at night.

So Sunday night, Grace woke up me up about 2:00 am with all her noise.  So I went in to settle her, as I described above and left by 2:30.  I turned on my fan and happily fell back asleep until 6:00am.  When I got up there was no noise from her room, so I assumed she fell back asleep also and waited until 7:00am to wake her up for school.  Imagine my surprise when this is what I found...

My sweet little girl did NOT go back to sleep.  Instead she somehow climbed out of her crib and trashed her room before deciding to sit in her chair.

This is what her room looked like

As you can imagine, it was quite a surprise to find her sitting in her chair with all the pillows and blankets on the floor.  In addition, she took all the diapers out of their basket and threw them around the room too.

And then, she sat there innocently waiting for me to come and get her!  Needless to say, she was one tired little girl at school on Monday.  Thankfully, the door to her room was shut or there is no telling the trouble she would have caused :)

I am linking my post to Hannah's blog as part of the FFF.  Even though my post (once again) has nothing to do with the theme.  To check out some super cute kids in their Easter best, go to Hannah's blog here.  Happy Friday!!

oh my. my daughter's sleeop habits have changed dramatically in the last couple months. she now refuses a nap on weekends, yet sleeps a two hour nap at school Monday through Friday. She used to go down at 7:30 and play in her crib for anywhere from 15 monutes to 45 minutes. then she started playing 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours after being put to bed. So now we put her down at 8:30 to 8:45, and she still will play sometimes up till 10 PM. We have her in a toddler bed, so it's hard to keep her in bed.

I bet you were surprised to find her out of bed if she hasn't done that before! Our little Peter has such short chubby legs that we joke that he won't be able to climb out of his crib until he's 15!

What a sweet innocent picture of her sitting there amongst the mess!

We have some major sleep issues at our hosue (1 child with a sleep disorder that makes it diffcult for her to put herself/calm herself back to sleep.) Thankfully she can't get out of her crib yet, but I know its coming.

HOpe you get some good rest and Grace does too!

Oh my Goodness!I had to giggle at this post because two nights ago my husband and I woke up to a huge stack of books by our bedroom door. In the morning Sara told me she played post office last night! Post office play happened somewhere between 11:00pm and 6:00am :)

It is so exciting to see pictures of Grace walking around, exploring her environment, making a mess!

Your baseball player looks great, too!
