a high height...

Grace has recently developed a new skill that she likes to show off at all times.  Grace has become a climber.  Of furniture.  It is both encouraging, as we love to see her exhibit any typical toddler behavior because well she's anything but typical and scary because she has no concept of danger.  Here are some recent pictures of places we have found her...

I think it's worth saying, that we always made sure she was safe before we took the pictures.  Just out of camera range is an adult that swooped in and took her down quickly.

The problem with Grace is that she is developing a stubborn streak and once you get her down she just goes back up.  It is really a challenge because with most 5 1/2 year olds, you can reason  or implement a consequence.  Not so with Grace.  I am finding that when it is too quiet with her in the house, she is usually somewhere she's not supposed to be.

Thankfully, she hasn't tried to climb any trees like her brothers...

In some respects Grace is exploring and growing and learning about new things and that's good. she's expanding her world!
My daughter loves to climb too, and it is truly scary. i remember reading about a child who had an entertainment center fall on top of him while he was trying to climb it ! even our own homes can be dangerous when our children get to climbing!! and it is hard to watch their every move. but yes, the silence is the key for me too -- I know then that my daughter is likely in to something. :)
